Cookies and browser storage
NOVENO uses a small amount of essential and preference-based browser storage to keep the website secure, remember accessibility choices and make the learning area easier to use. It does not currently use advertising or optional analytics tracking.

What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on a device by a website. Similar technologies, including local storage, can remember information in a browser without using a traditional cookie. UK privacy rules apply to both. This policy explains the storage NOVENO currently uses and the choices available to you.
Essential sign-in technology
Secure sign-in is provided through the website’s hosting and authentication service. It may use essential cookies or similar technology to recognise a signed-in session, prevent misuse and protect account security. These technologies are necessary for the account and learning-area features requested by the user, so they cannot be switched off through a NOVENO consent control. Their duration is controlled by the secure sign-in service and may be limited to the session or the period required to maintain secure access.
Sidebar preference: sidebar_state
The learning area uses a cookie named sidebar_state to remember whether its navigation menu is open or closed. Its purpose is to preserve the interface choice on the same browser. It contains only the value true or false, does not contain a learning record and expires after seven days.
Accessibility preference: noveno-reduced-motion
When a user changes the Reduce motion setting, NOVENO stores the value in the browser’s local storage under noveno-reduced-motion. This remembers whether reduced animation is preferred on that device. It contains only the preference, not identity or learning records, and remains until the user changes it or clears the website’s stored data.
Current storage summary
NOVENO currently uses essential sign-in storage, the seven-day sidebar_state preference cookie and the noveno-reduced-motion local-storage preference. It does not currently install advertising cookies, behavioural-tracking pixels or optional analytics scripts. Learning progress, practice answers and enquiries are stored securely by the service rather than in these preference cookies.
Why there is no cookie banner
NOVENO does not currently use optional advertising or analytics technology that requires a consent choice. Essential sign-in technology is needed to provide secure account features. The limited interface and accessibility storage is used only to remember choices on the device. Clear information is provided here, and users can reset these preferences through the controls described below.
Third-party services
The hosting and secure sign-in providers may set or access strictly necessary technology to deliver and protect the website. Online Stripe payments, live AI and optional analytics are not currently active. Before a new provider introduces non-essential storage, NOVENO will review it, update this policy and add an appropriate consent control where required.
Managing or deleting stored information
You can change Reduce motion in the learning-area Settings. The sidebar preference changes when you open or close the menu. Browser settings can also display, block or delete cookies and site data. Clearing NOVENO site data will reset device preferences and may sign you out, but it will not delete learning records saved to an account. Account information can be managed separately as explained in the Privacy Policy.
What happens if cookies are blocked?
The public website should remain available if cookies are blocked, but secure sign-in, account access and some saved interface preferences may not work correctly. Blocking or deleting essential sign-in storage may require you to sign in again.
Future analytics and marketing
If NOVENO later introduces optional analytics, marketing pixels or other non-essential technology, it will not activate them merely because a visitor continues browsing. Where consent is required, visitors will receive clear information and a genuine choice before the technology operates, including a way to reject or later withdraw consent.
Privacy and questions
Browser storage can sometimes involve personal information. The NOVENO Privacy Policy explains how personal information is used and the rights available to individuals. Use the contact form if you have a question about cookies, browser storage or privacy.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be reviewed when website features or providers change. In particular, it will be checked before Stripe checkout, live AI, analytics or additional third-party tools are introduced. The latest update date will always be shown on this page.
